This album is anthology of string quartets by Yujin IZANO. And I also note that "Yujin IZAINO" is the pen name of Taishi Harada.
In general string quartet is an artistic work, like sonata or symphony. If a concert's program consists of only symphony, audience feels so heavy (It may be a string quartet fan who loves that heavy feeling ...)
In a case of an orchestra, there are many works for orchestra, that are not symphony, such as "Swan Lake" or Gershwin's work etc. In a case of string quartet's program, however, there are no works like Johann Strauss's waltz or pieces by Leroy Anderson. I strongly felt the need for a string quartet equivalent music, and this collection was created with it.
From 1994 to 2004, I was performing in a group called "Airefu String Quartet" based in Fukuoka. And we played it at each concert. This album included three pieces related to the season, four movements of the suite "Ochauke", and only one art work.
Also, this recording is a violin and viola multi-recording by Taishi Harada, and a cello by Keiko Shigematsu.
The three roles of one person can be very sucessful, and some cannot. Frankly speaking there are many things I would like to try again, but here I gave priority to those who put them out into the world.
I hope you will enjoy the pop sound of the strings.
