Every summer,
somehow, we meet again with the ones we can no longer see.

Four months after the release of his first EP, PLEASE, on April 15,
Fumiya Sato returns with his very first single,
"Summertime Rendezvous."

The distant sound of a summer festival.
Ice cream melting in the heat.
Warm nights.
And the person you loved, smiling right beside you.

This song is made of those little memories of summer -
and the story of a love we can never go back to.

Do we remember them because we loved them so much?
Or do we still love them because we could never forget?

Maybe the answer doesn't matter.

Back then, the song says:

"I want to love you in our next life, too."

But as time passes, that wish quietly changes into:

"I hope we can love each other in our next life."

Only one word has changed.

And yet, within that tiny difference lies all the time that has passed
since that person was by your side.

Like ice cream melting beneath the summer sun,
some things change their shape no matter how desperately we try to hold on to them.

But just because something has melted away
doesn't mean the happiness we once shared disappears with it.

That is why the love left at the end of this song carries two feelings at once:

the tenderness of loving someone,
and the ache of losing them.

Holding both close,
another summer slowly comes to an end.

Maybe "Summertime Rendezvous" isn't a song about meeting someone again.

Maybe it's a song about meeting them again and again -
somewhere inside your memories.

Whenever you hear the sounds of a summer festival.
Whenever your ice cream begins to melt.
Whenever the air suddenly smells like summer.
