In January 1995, Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake occurred. Under the cold sky and in the terribly miserable situation, the volunteers started to prepare meals outdoor.
The steam looked to make the hearts of many people warm.
This melody was born from this rising steam.
This work is the last one among 10 of Piano Small Pieces "Maternal Scenes" composed by myself.
*"Maternal Scenes" was published from Zen-on Music Publishing Company in Japan.

Artist Profile

  • Yuriko Okamoto

    Born at Shizuoka City. Graduated at Japan Women's University, Histrical Division. Studied the piano under Professor Ms.Kazuko Inoue, Professor Mr.Noboru Toyomasu and Professor Mr.Youichi Miura. Studied composition on my own first. From my late thirties after the childcare, started to study in the composition course at Culture Center under Professor Mr.Teruaki Suzuki. The "Red flowers" was received "Sound & Recording Magazine Prize" at Multimedea Contest. Published the Collection of Piano small Pieces " Maternal Scenes" by Zen-on Music Publishing Company and held the concert of the Publication comemoration. "Wild Rose" self-composed was awarded as the best work of "1997 Concert for 88 works of Sound Wild Rose" in the City Matsumoto. The article about the best work "Wild Rose" on "Chopin and Me" was published by Music Friend Co. Now Continuing the composition activity especially for ballet.
