Monologue

A shirt swaying on the balcony.
Coffee gone cold.
The sound of a railroad crossing, a train at dusk.

In the middle of an ordinary day,
there are little voices
no one else can hear.

Things I might forget
by tomorrow.

And still, just for today,
I think I'll try to smile a little.

Just another ordinary day.
