Back Mirror I

DJ KENTAROU, a DJ/beatmaker based in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, will release "Back Mirror I," the first of a two-part beat tape on Tuesday, July 26.

DJ KENTAROU is also active in addginjahzz, a collective he formed with rappers Jony the sonata and milkyheadone. formed in 2014, the group has been actively releasing mixtapes and EPs, and last year released As for DJ Kentarou himself, he has released several singles with guest rappers since last year. He has been showing his face as a beatmaker, not a group DJ.
This beat tape contains 12 tracks, including the previously released singles "Mirrors" and "Naturally. The beats are constructed with boombop at the core, but with trap as well, and are cut through with soulful textures and serious airs through sampling. Although mainly instrumental, the aforementioned single "Mirrors" features addginjahzz, and "Naturally" features Shokei. Dirty Decibel adds rap to the beat on "Day by Day," the first release on this album.
The artwork is by Ishikawa-based contemporary artist Tetsuya Shintani. The second beat tape, "Back Mirror II," is scheduled for release in late August.
