Hailing from Takatsuki in Hokusetsu, Osaka, Kuge Vibes drops their first full-length album since 2021, taking their music from the local streets to listeners nationwide.
Teaming up with beatmaker YUHEY, they present the joint album "HALF MC HALF MPC," releasing September 2026.
True to its title, the 21-track album alternates completely between vocal tracks and beats. Designed to be enjoyed as a full cohesive project rather than individual singles, it offers a seamlessly groovy listening experience. Everyday slice-of-life lyrics slowly soak into the beats chopped on YUHEY's MPC. Featuring guest appearances from MC masatatz, U, and talu, their blending voices create exceptional chemistry.
Each track title is named after places YUHEY spent time in Vancouver, Canada. Like tracing through memories, the day begins in Room 206--the apartment where he used to live--crosses the Burrard Bridge, and lounges around Kits Beach. Before you know it, Moon River flows across the night sky, and you head back to Room 206 through the rainbow crosswalk.
Past memories meet the present moment. The distant scenery of Vancouver blends with the sound of the MPC. Over these vivid beats, Kuge Vibes--whose lyrical craft was honed through band activities--connects yesterday and today. The album artwork was created by SOUL FLOWER - YOSSY, whom YUHEY met in Room 206 in Vancouver and who serves as the root of his hip-hop music.
Under the motto "Back 2 Da Classic," this album brings the raw, jazzy flavor of the 90s, effortlessly embracing timeless loop music without worrying about current trends. They take the sounds that have come full circle and play them with their own modern touch. Roll down the car window, lean back, and let the music sway you into a good mood.
