Brass Mechanism
Minami Kitasono
"Meridian," the 1st album released from Phyllite Records, an independent label founded by Minami Kitasono, who works as a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and music producer.
Featuring nine tracks influenced by diverse genres such as AOR, City Pop, Soul, Jazz, and Fusion, all composed using full scores. Leveraging his skills as a composer and multi-instrumentalist, the album presents intricate arrangements and a unique musical style.
Actively incorporating remote recording, recordings of horn and string sections were conducted in Germany and Ukraine. By completing large ensemble pieces in a single apartment room, it introduces new possibilities as a "next-generation home recording album."
Kitasono himself took on comprehensive production duties, handling all vocal and instrumental recordings through self-recording. Furthermore, from sound design to mixing, he maintained thorough quality control throughout the production process.
The cover art features René Magritte's painting "Hegel's Holiday," visually symbolizing the album's universe.
