Artist Profile

• Linen Frisco

  We are a four-piece band from Kobe, formed in April 2023. At the core of our practice is the expansion of commonly accepted worldviews and aesthetics. Drawing from a wide range of influences including Black music, ambient, and indie rock, we reconstruct these elements into a genre-defying sound. Our second EP "natura," released in February 2025, uses nature as a medium to explore universal and essential purity. Our upcoming single "Shima," scheduled for release in April 2026, is inspired by the folk culture and traditional music of Japan's Ryukyu Islands. Through this work, we attempt to revive ritualistic practices as a form of initiation within a contemporary context. In our live performances, we collaborate with VJ Keiji Matsuoka, who creates real-time liquid painting visuals. Together, we create an immersive experience that transcends recorded sound and presents live performance as a deeply lived and visceral event.
