OLDTIMER's first release of 2026 explores a different side of the band, moving beyond their usual rock-oriented sound. Influenced by trap beats and dub, the track blends synth bass and percussion to create a groove that feels uniquely OLDTIMER.
The song carries a message about celebrating the roots that each person comes from. Reflecting the members' own backgrounds, the chorus is sung in Spanish, adding another personal layer to the track.
OLDTIMER is a Tokyo-based band that creates a genre-defying sound inspired by music from around the world. Their multicultural approach naturally weaves Japanese, English, Spanish, and Portuguese phrases into their lyrics. In 2024, the band shifted to a bass-less lineup, featuring two guitars, drums, and a mix of electronic elements such as synths, backing tracks, pads, and percussion. This hybrid setup allows them to combine organic and electronic sounds in a unique way. Their music is both introspective and powerful, crafted for large stages and open-air settings, connecting with audiences on a deeper level. In 2025, OLDTIMER released three consecutive singles. In April 2026, they successfully released new material and hosted a self-produced live show, followed by the release of two more singles in June. The band continues to expand its reach across Japan with an appearance at the urban music festival Inspiration Okinawa 2026 in August and its first Kansai tour, including Osaka and Kyoto, scheduled for September.
