In Latin, the word for "festival" is said to be festum, meaning "sacred."There are solemn festivals, passionate festivals, and small family celebrations. As many of you know, since ancient times, festivals have often been sacred ceremonies held to offer prayers to the gods. In Italian, "festa"means "festival."
In recent years, we have seen reports every day of unprecedented natural disasters occurring in various parts of the world, perhaps as a result of global warming. It is deeply distressing to witness them, and at the same time, when we catch a glimpse of the immense power of nature, we cannot help but think, "Tomorrow, it could be me."I find myself praying that, if such disasters must occur, they will at least happen in places where no one is there to suffer.
We tend to forget the heat once it has passed, as if the discomfort at our throats has disappeared. With the hope that we will not allow ourselves to forget what we have experienced, I chose the title "Festa"for this song.
There would be little meaning in creating a dark song simply by dwelling on the many troubling events happening around us today. Instead, I wanted to create a bright song, with a wish in my heart: if nature must become angry, then I hope it will simply admonish us, without causing anyone to grieve.
That is the feeling with which I created this song, "Festa."
