You don’t gotta lie just to make it through the day
You can still laugh, even drifting this way
In a room that sways like it’s breathing on its own
If pastel squares and circles warm your cheeks into tone
If your face fills with color, softly swollen with light
That alone was enough, that alone felt right
No need to cry, yeah, there’s really no demand
In a dark little room, at least flip the lamp
Come on, hit the switch, let the shadows retreat
There’s still olanzapine left tucked under the sink
Not a sermon, not a cure, not a permanent fix
Just a pause in the spiral, chemistry tricks
You don’t have to stay tense, don’t brace for the hit
By the pharmacy trees where the minutes feel thin
A bored, fragile wind barely bothering leaves
Autumn-blue sky slowly dragged like a sleeve
Nothing urgent, nothing chasing your back
Just air moving air in a lukewarm fact
We’ve still got something, I know it’s still here
Past reinforced glass at the east wing frontier
Behind tempered windows that don’t ever bend
Something learned how to start, how to end, start again
Blooming, then falling, repeating the scene
That vivid, electric, cobalt-blue flame
I remember the way it refused to stay still
Like fire pretending it’s learning to kneel
Every flare was a vow, every fade was a theft
Still it burned like it owed us whatever was left
Not loud like a siren, not quiet like prayer
Just a color that proved we were ever there
No lies in the smile, no weight in the breath
Just the casual courage of not choosing death
In a rocking-room rhythm, unstable but kind
Where the floor tilts gently with the tilt of the mind
Pastels in your hand, chalk dust in the air
Turning pain into shapes that don’t ask you to care
You don’t need a breakdown, don’t need to perform
Don’t need holy suffering to prove you’re warm
Just sit in the mess, let the minutes misalign
Let the seconds drip slow like a bad punchline
If your cheeks fill with life, even briefly, even thin
Then the day didn’t win, then the day didn’t win
I’m not saying it’s fixed, I’m not saying it’s fine
But the light hit the wall in a merciful line
And the room kept swaying, not violent, not fast
Like a ship that remembers a gentler past
If you laughed without lying, just once, just then
That was more than enough, I’d take that again
There’s medicine waiting, there’s trees in a row
There’s a sky that keeps moving even when we don’t know
There’s a flame past the glass, cobalt, untrained
Teaching start and goodbye like it’s not a mistake
And we’re standing somewhere between numb and awake
Letting weak autumn wind make decisions it makes
So don’t cry for the moment, don’t dramatize loss
Just exist in the middle, unheroic, un-crossed
If you smiled without armor, if your face found some weight
If the color came back even late, even late
Then I swear, then I swear, with no god, with no plan
That was everything, that was all that I am
