Pennore

The acoustic Asian trad punk duo - ALKDO, formed by Yoshiki Nagayama a.k.a Kim Aesu (Vo., A.Gt.) & Takemai (Vo., Korean Drums) from TURTLE ISLAND, will pre-release their new single "Pennore" Studio Recording Version by online distribution on Sunday, May 31st. This is the first time they publish a new work since their live recording album "LIFE" released at the SOUL BEAT ASIA in June 2018. Arranged by ALKDO, "Pennore" is a traditional Korean sea shanty, that is a song showing a feeling of banding together and also for a beginning of something new. Having Kazuya Gatcha Uechi (Cb / from Maltese Rock) and KOYOsax (A.Sax / S.Sax) participated in this work, the song has turned out to have the further increased groove, embedded a message to overcome the raging waves of this difficult time. The song was recorded at Studio Mokureisya (Nagano), Groove (Okinawa), and MAYASCO (Amami Island). The mix & mastering was done at Kanbutz-ya (Nagano) as well as operated remotely. The album jacket woodcut design was by Yoshiki Nagayama a.k.a Kim Aesu. This three-headed-one-legged falcon in the style of Korean folk art Minhwa is believed to be God bird on the Korean Peninsula and is believed to slash disasters with their powerful beak and protect people.
