"Senaga 'Y' Land" - The Pioneers of Okinawan Ska-Punk are Back with a High-Energy Beach Anthem!
Founded in 2001 in the tropical heart of Okinawa, the band originally known as SKA SHIPPE redefined the Japanese ska scene, later achieving major-label success as All Japan Goith. Now performing as SKA SHIPPE ~season of circus~, they have returned with a fresh, brass-heavy track that captures the raw energy of the islands.
Led by veteran musician Takafumi "Chome" Tome, their latest single "Senaga 'Y' Land" is a high-octane tribute to the wild nights on Senaga Island. Combining the fast-paced grit of punk rock with the sophisticated groove of a full horn section, the song tells a playful story of summer encounters and late-night cruising.
With its infectious "Fly Up!!!" chorus and a relentless rhythm section that pays homage to their roots, this track is designed for the festival stage. For over two decades, this band has been the heartbeat of Okinawa's alternative music scene, and "Senaga 'Y' Land" proves that their "Season of Circus" has only just begun.
Get ready to dance. The Okinawan Ska legend is back to claim the beach.
A Legend Restarts: Every History Becomes a Circus. Ska Shippe, the ska-punk band that first emerged in Okinawa in 2001, later transformed into All Japan Goith for their major debut, leading the Okinawan music scene at its peak. After years of evolution, they have returned to their origins. In 2020, with the return of leader Chome and the merger with Nanbu Mango Parties, the group entered its current era as SKA SHIPPE -season of circus-. Blending Ska, Reggae, Rock, and Okinawan Soul into a "Champuru" (fusion) style, their music is a literal "Sound Circus." With a fiery horn section and performances that turn life's ups and downs into celebration, they sweep every audience into a whirlpool of pure energy.
