8mm FILM, a Anisong vocal unit based in Tokyo, Japan, releases their first cover secret base~Kimi ga Kureta Mono~ (ZONE cover) in July 2025.
The 8 members of 8mm FILM first met in early childhood, and miraculously reunited in high school. They formed a vocal unit, hoping to share their favorite Anisongs (anime songs) with the world.
The 8 unique voices of 8mm FILM reverberate in their classroom after school.
secret base~Kimi ga Kureta Mono~ was originally released by ZONE (band) on 8 August 2001. Written and composed by Norihiko Machida, it depicts a heartrending parting with close friends during one final summer vacation. The song gained attention once more in 2011, when it was used as the ending theme of the Japanese anime television series Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. (English: We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day.).
The cover performed by 8mm FILM was recorded in a single take in a classroom after school.
