Sanshin & Okinawa (Song Ver.)

Keiichiro Akamine

島の風に乗って遠くから聞こえる三線の音

人が心を込めて作った物には想いが乗る

火と水と土だけがあれば本当は何もいらないのさ

愛を繋いでく

海を超えていく

時を超え 形を変えて

想いは祈りへと

    Keiichiro Akamine

I created the core melody of this song in 2012, when I was just starting to compose music in high school. I recorded some original songs and had friends listen to them, and I still vividly remember the indescribable embarrassment, anxiety, and anticipation, as well as the joy I felt when they reacted. That experience formed the foundation of my current activities.

In 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic began, I released a song titled "Sanshin and Okinawa." When I released the song, I took on the challenge without thinking about the consequences or knowing what to do, hoping that many people in many places would listen to it.

A few years have passed since then, and now my songs are being listened to by many different people, and they're even being used in posts on social media like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. I've also had more opportunities to hear "Hey, Akamine?" from acquaintances I hadn't told before that I was involved in music.

The songs released in 2026, "Sanshin, Okinawa, and Song" and "Sanshin, Okinawa, and Violin," are newly recorded with live performances of vocals, violin, drums, bass, whistles, and hayashi (chants). I created these songs together with people I am grateful to for their help.

Thank you everyone.

I hope you can feel the atmosphere of Okinawa from the songs.
