Shishunki

"Shishunki" (Adolescence) opens with a mother's words, "It's for your own good," and a bedroom door slamming shut in frustration. The song follows a teenage girl unsettled by the increasingly grown-up face staring back from her mirror, wanting to be understood but too afraid to show her true self. Beneath her defiant cry of "I can do it, I can do anything!" churns a nameless pain and a wave of anxiety she can't explain. In a noisy classroom, the only escape is the music leaking from her earphones. Struggling under a grey sky, she still holds onto the hope that one day she'll be able to love this ache in her chest. It's an honest, unfiltered anthem of being a teenager.
