Sorane carries a guiding theme in his heart as he continues making music:
"If the Sorane I was as a child were to look at who I am now and think I'm lame, then that's as far as I go. I want to be someone that the younger me would still see as the person he wanted to become."
With this belief as its foundation, Sorane presents Not Laughing Yet, a project created to embody that very theme. Literally translating to "not laughing yet," the title reflects a sense of resilience. The EP consists of five tracks that look back on the hardships he faced throughout 2025 and the strength it took to confront them.
Among them, "Lullaby," which was released earlier in December 2025 alongside its music video, stands out as a deeply personal song that directly faces his own circumstances.
The opening track, "No School Rules," speaks of stepping beyond the hierarchies and systems of school and into a much larger battlefield. "DAAANCE!" follows, fully expressing the groove Sorane cultivated through ten years of dance training. "Car Stereo" paints a vivid scene inspired by looking down at the glittering streets of Shinsaibashi from the highway. The closing track, "Tomodachi," is dedicated to comrades-in-arms who continue to fight alongside him, even when they are not physically by his side.
With this release as a starting point, the second chapter of Sorane begins.
Born in 2001, he is a rapper from Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture.
