愛犬との散歩中、高校一年生の夏休み前に担任の先生から言われた言葉を、ふと思い出しました。
「明日から夏休みですが、死なないでください。死んでしまったら、私がどんなに頑張っても君たちを取り戻せないから」
その瞬間、心に降りてきたのが「Come Back Home」という言葉でした。その後も浮かんできた言葉を一つひとつ紡ぎ、楽曲『戻ろうよ』が生まれました。
しかし、一度完成したものの、どうしても納得できませんでした。そこで、友人やフォロワーの皆様から率直なフィードバックをいただき、完成した曲をあえて一度壊し、ゼロからつくり直すことを決意しました。
前へ進むことだけが勇気ではありません。立ち止まり、本当の気持ちと向き合い、戻るべき場所へ戻ることにも大きな勇気が必要です。
「今からでも遅くない」「戻ることは逃げることではない」。そんな思いを、ポップを基調としたヒップホップ／R&Bのサウンドに乗せました。道に迷い、自分の居場所を見失いかけている人、特に未成年の方の心に、そっと届くことを願っています。
