Members (L to R): Naoki Yonashiro (Dr) / youdog (Ba) / Ryo Yoshida (Vo/Gt) / Yu Ueda (Gt) SABANNAMAN Formed in 2012 by members of a university music club, SABANNAMAN is a four-piece rock band based in Yokohama and Tokyo. Drawing inspiration from Western music of the 1970s through the 1990s, the band has developed a distinctive sound that blends a wide range of influences with dynamic musicianship. They have steadily expanded their presence from their hometown to live venues and festivals across Japan. In 2015, they performed on the ROOKIE A GO-GO stage at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 15, where they won the audience vote, earning a spot on the RED MARQUEE stage at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 16 the following year. They have since appeared at major Japanese festivals including Kyoto Daisakusen (Ushiwaka Stage), Hasshoku Summer Free Live, HAZIKETEMAZARE FESTIVAL, Million Rock Festival, SATANIC CARNIVAL, and ECHOES. Following a change in bassists, the band competed in the 2026 music audition program Ongaku Shinka-ron (Music Evolution Theory), hosted by Mino Music. They emerged as the unanimous winner from a field of more than 1,000 applicants, taking home the grand prize of JPY 1,000,000. Championing their self-defined genre, NEO 90s, SABANNAMAN released the single Low Animal / CAMEL feat. MYKEY ahead of their 15th anniversary in 2027, continuing to push their own interpretation of alternative rock with unmistakable groove and energy.
