Artist Profile

  • Nakunayo Babys

A four-piece rock band based in Nara, Japan. Formed nearly 15 years ago, all members continue the band while working full-time jobs and balancing music with family life and everyday responsibilities. Rooted in Nara, the band drew over 100 people to the release show for their previous EP at their local venue, Nara NEVERLAND. This year, they played their first-ever Tokyo show at Shimokitazawa SHELTER, a venue they had long admired since their early days covering Hi-STANDARD, bringing in nearly 100 people and steadily expanding their activities. In July 2026, Nakunayobabies will release their new EP MARS. The EP has also received recommendation comments from fellow band members with roots in Nara, and the lead single Hotobori ga Sametara has been highly praised by fellow musicians as well. Hotobori ga Sametara is a song that captures the band members attitude of refusing to give up on fun and excitement as they grow older, along with the consequences and regrets that inevitably arrive the morning after a party. These feelings are expressed through honest words and a straightforward band sound. Rooted in alternative rock, punk, hard rock, and oldies, the song combines the realism of everyday life with raw energy, making it a defining track for Nakunayobabies today. Catch copy: A band from Nara that took 15 years to reach SHELTER. Rather than a flashy success story, this release reflects four people still on the journey, working, living, and continuing to play music on their own terms.
