In a Dream is a song about a time when even being awake felt painful and sleep was the only place where I could feel any happiness
In reality my heart felt heavy and I did not even have the strength to get up but in my dreams I was smiling on a boat drifting across a vast blue sea
That world was the only place where I felt safe and I found myself wishing that I could stay there just a little longer
Even though both are blue the blue I saw in my dreams and the blue I saw in reality felt like completely different colors
This song expresses the pain of wanting to escape from reality and the part of me that was still searching for a gentle and beautiful world by portraying dreams as the only place where I truly felt at home
