Mado wo Akeru (Opening the Window) - On a night in early summer, a girl by the window sings her way back to herself.

A little past eight in the evening, in a city room. The smartphone snaps shut. Only the low hum of the air conditioner, the ticking of the wall clock, and faint distant jazz remain. The nights have begun to shorten. The blue of the hydrangea sways in a corner of the balcony.

She stands up and opens the window. Night air circles into the room, and with it come city sounds and the glow of streetlamps - "the sound of an early summer night beginning."

The heart of the song is a quiet declaration of self-acceptance that evolves verse by verse: "I hold myself," "I accept myself," "I overlap with myself." It's all right not to change, it's all right to change - not forgiving, not forgetting, not discarding, but placing the self-of-before and the self-of-now side by side, embracing them together, walking forward.

In the bridge the song modulates from F#m to A major - from minor-key introspection into a major-key opening. Standing before the mirror, taking past-self and present-self by the hand, she steps into a new wind.

Three onomatopoeic words - "fuwari" (a gentle drift), "kirari" (a soft sparkle), "gutto" (a firm pull) - update the distance between self and world chapter by chapter. The small gesture of opening a window becomes the ritual that reconnects self and world.

Honey Day Key 37th Single. J-Pop synth-pop x Neo City Pop x Dance Ballad. BPM 130. F#m to A major. Mastered at -14 LUFS / TP -3.9 dBTP / Linear normalization.
