Kawasaki-based trackmaker/DJ/rapper/reggae soundman Tetsukyu Okuwaki has released a new 17-track album "Kyogen no Kami" on the beatmaker label "XXX//PEKE//XXX!
Kyogen no Kami" is a work created by deconstructing and reconstructing sound, a work that overtakes even the words 'improvisation' and "freedom" and lays bare the instincts of sound.
The boundaries between genres dissolve, and everything blends together.
There are no well-formed chords or sweet melodies here.
What resonates here are fragments of rough radio, the sound of wind picked up outdoors, and the cry of something.
All of them collide, warp, and create a strange "groove.
Not a performance, but a dismantling. Not improvisation, but impulse.
Rhythms collapse, melodies distort, and structures explode.
But there is indeed "music that was not meant to be heard" breathing in the air.
Kyogen" is truth under the mask of comedy, and
"God" is an existence that repeats destruction and creation.
