• Masaco Nishijima

  Masaco Nishijima (Pf.)  She began studying composition and arrenging at age four.She received her profesional diproma from YAMAHA when 11years old, performing numerous concerts during her studies at the Academy. She played accompaniment on NHK TV's ''Okassan to Issho'' ("Together with Mother''), and has done arranging and production work for Yamaha music foundation's magazine. She also peformed in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan at the city's anniversary ceremonies. More recently, she started playiog jazz piano, performing at Toyota Jazz Square 2014 and giving a solo performance, ''Jazz and Words World; Following Matisse,'' at the Menard Museum. Her first album of original songs and arrangements was released in May, 2015. She studied at Berklee Music College in Boston during the 2016 and 2017 Summer semesters. Her gigs at the Blue Note Nagoya in January 2017 and Ginza Swing in April 2018 were Sold Out. Her second album, on T-toc records, was released in May 2018, with a mojor interview and review in Jazz Japan(vol.94),and her September 2019 performance of ''Wazaogi'' Jazz at TOMl Jazz in New York City incorporated the Japanese flavor of that second album. She continues to pursue and realize new dreams.
