Formed in 2023, the folk band Kekko Seikatsu releases their first full-length album, monju. The album features sound engineering by the emerging composer MON/KU, with original artwork illustrated by Shishi Yamazaki.
Drawing on folk, Japanese kayōkyoku, and traditional music, the band uses twin lead vocals and rich three-part harmonies to capture the subtle emotional shifts and quiet, prayer-like sentiments that emerge in everyday life.
All nine tracks were recorded in the summer of 2025 at a band member's home in Tochigi Prefecture. The album was entirely self-produced and independently recorded.
Formed in Tokyo in December 2023, Kekko Seikatsu drifts between Japanese kayōkyoku and traditional folk forms. Blending these influences with a contemporary sensibility and intricate three-part vocal harmonies, they carve out a sound of their own. Their first full-length album ''monju'' is set for release on April 11, 2026, produced in collaboration with fellow musician MON/KU. Members: mique kureha (Vo/Gt), Kaitaro (Vo/Bodhrán, etc.), Shingo (Cho/Bass)
