I line up the poems I’ve written down

Lost in thought as the shadows surround

Something is missing, I feel it inside

I search through my heart, with nowhere to hide

But I can’t seem to find it yet, no matter how hard I tried

If I ever find that missing piece

One day when the searching starts to cease

I’ll spin even more words into the air

A tapestry of stories for us to share

Until then, it’s just a tiny song

But if the ripples spread and grow strong

If this echoing voice of mine

Can fill a gap in someone’s heart, even for a time

That would be enough, I’d be fine

That’s what I hum to myself, in this rhyme

I imagine a sky, so clear and blue

But the scenery is blurred, a misty view

It’s stained with tears, I can’t see through

No matter how hard I strain my eyes

I can’t understand what beneath it lies

That feeling is

So frustrating

So empty

But even so

"One more time," I say

Over and over, every single day

Everything that’s happened until now

And what starts tomorrow, I don’t know how

In days that might not even come to be

Inside this uncertainty

I can’t give up, so I let out a sigh

But even so

I’m going to start again

Scattering the thoughts that begin to untie

Without anyone ever knowing why

I’ll leave them like stars in the sky

If I follow the trail, I feel I’ll understand

A soft light glows, here in my hand

These smoldering feelings deep inside

I’ll pack them all in, with nothing to hide

And I’ll sing

Melting my heart into the melody

Wishing it reaches as far as can be

To wherever you are

To the farthest star
