SAKURA Improvisation

March 3, 2024 at the Hinamatsuri(Dolls' Festival) Special Concert, I composed three pieces of improvised music based on the theme of "Piano Improvisation Poet Hiroshi Kawase's Composition on the spot!". The first music was "Hinamatsuri" and this second music was "Sakura(cherry blossoms)".

The jacket photo is of cherry blossoms in the southwest fountain pond in Hibiya Park. It is my favorite photo of rainbows and cherry blossoms!
I thought about the name of this song a lot, but I decided that it would best describe my improvisational performance itself, as when I was playing, I was absorbed in thinking of sakura and describing and copying the life of the flower, hoping that my strong feelings for sakura would be conveyed.
I hope that the splendor of Japanese SAKURA (cherry blossoms) will reach the world, and that we can share a peaceful future!
