2nd and A

Corner of 2nd and A, back in 2019

We were living on pizza and a broken dream

Your Converse were dirty, your screen was all cracked

But you were the only thing I didn't want back

Drinking cheap Merlot on a fire escape

Watching the city in a hazy shape

We had a heartbeat faster than the L-train line

Thinking we’d never run out of time

Now you’re uptown in a suit and a tie

Living a life that’s a beautiful lie

I saw your story, you’re in Paris tonight

While I’m still haunted by that East Village light

Passed by that diner, they still play our song

Reminding me of everywhere we went wrong

The smell of your perfume is still in the air

In the ghost of the jacket you used to wear

Everything’s moving, but I’m standing still

Trying to climb back up that emotional hill

One more second, one more street

Before the memory and the reality meet!

Oh, we’re just echoes in the East Village night

Chasing the shadows of a flickering light

Everything’s changed, but I’m still the same

Writing our history on a window frame

East Village ecstasy

We grew up, we grew out, we grew apart

But you’re still the rhythm of my digital heart

If I could go back to that fire escape

I’d never let our future take shape

Oh, we’re just echoes in the East Village night

Chasing the shadows of a flickering light

Everything’s changed, but I’m still the same

Writing our history on a window frame

East Village ecstasy

From Saitama Prefecture. In my 30s. I've always loved music and listened to it constantly I can't play any instruments at all (I tried guitar once but gave up halfway). But someday I want to create my own favorite songs and have someone listen to them. Thanks to the latest technology, I can now distribute my music. It's purely a hobby, but I'll keep at it little by little!
