This is the first full-length album by the Tokyo-based acoustic quartet Doroumi, which concentrates the charm of live instruments.
The songs from the initial formation in 2013 have been newly composed by the current lineup.
The soft voices of the male-female duo give a nostalgic impression of songs and folk tunes, but the extended arrangements with piano and cello give a sense of presence that goes beyond nostalgia and exoticism.
The poetic world of the Japanese language is sometimes disturbing and comical, and it breathes a reality that does not end in fantasy.
