Frozen Lake [Suite of Winter Fantasia, No.3]

Yachiho Plateau in the Yatsugatake mountains.
Here the elevation is over 2,000 meters.

Surrounded by a larch forest covered with thick snow, the lakeside is a natural anechoic chamber, absorbing even the sound of my footsteps as I walk on the snow. It is a space of complete silence where I hear nothing but the sound of my own breathing.

And even though it is a very cold place with temperatures as low as 15 degrees below zero, standing here alone in solitude, I even feel a strange warmth in the embrace of the great wilderness...


---This piece is an ambitious work by "sound painter" Seiji KITAYAMA, who expresses the [silence] of a lake in winter through physical music.

The final chime stroke signals the end of the " Suite of Winter Fantasia " trilogy, and at the same time, suggests a premonition the coming spring.
