My cat’s on the table—sleeping, not caring

Don’t touch the remote, I don’t need the news

Everyone’s freaking like “it’s the end of the world”

To me, it’s just an annoying alarm

Milky tea in my chipped cup

Clock ticks so slow it’s almost a joke

Sometimes my phone buzzes—

No energy left for replies

Headlines and hashtags, they all fade out

World freakouts on loop, just a lullaby

Crossword’s half-done, I leave it blank

Don’t really feel like “figuring it out” anyway

World’s collapsing, but it all feels gray

The light in my room’s just sleepy and faint

Emergency alerts like dreams I forget

When I finally wake up, nothing’s changed

Everybody yelling “this is insane”

But it’s all distant, like it’s not even real

Just listen to my cat purr through the afternoon

Let it all melt by, lost in the haze

Sun peeking through the curtains

I barely notice the shade of blue

Whisper “whatever” under my breath

Feels like I’m turning translucent too

Unread news, flashing and fading

My mind slowly blurs at the edges

April wind sneaks in

Leaves me drifting, stoic and still
