“the world is cruel” — that’s easy noise

Not here to shrug and say

“I don’t get the world” — that’s a decoy

Not here to polish my flaws

Into some glittering alibi

Not here to drown in self-denial

Just to feel purified

I’m talking about that stripped-down core —

What can I say

To a faceless “you”

I’ve never seen before?

That razor-thin margin of speech

Where honesty bleeds but doesn’t preach

Where every word is a measured reach

Across a distance we can’t quite breach

I use syllables like rulers

Measure space in tone and breath

Gauge the distance between your pulse and mine

Between comfort and the edge of depth

Maybe that’s the point —

Not to conquer, not to claim

But to honor where you stand

Without renaming your pain

Sometimes I use frightening sounds

Low notes that crawl under skin

Because being shaken

Shows me where I begin

You don’t know your ground

Until it trembles once

Fear is a mirror —

Distortion makes it blunt

I don’t think anxiety is something to smash

Not a glass to shatter, not a ghost to slash

It’s a shadow that fades

When you sit with it long enough —

When you let it breathe

Without calling its bluff

Maybe unease isn’t an enemy raid

Maybe it’s proof

That connection was made

So I write in frequencies —

Soft, then severe

Not to dominate your atmosphere

But to make sure you feel safe here

I’m not trying to explain the world

I’m not pretending not to know

I’m just measuring the space between us

If I scare you sometimes

It’s not to win

It’s to find

Where we begin

And if the fear dissolves
