    6月15日生まれ。東京都江東区深川出身。歌手・俳優。 1980年、シングル「赤と黒」で歌手デビュー。同年末の第31回NHK紅白歌合戦には、姉・岩崎宏美とともに、姉妹それぞれソロで初出場を果たし、大きな話題を集めた。 1985年には、アニメ『タッチ』の主題歌「タッチ」が日本レコード大賞金賞を受賞。翌1986年には、同作のエンディングテーマ「青春」が第58回選抜高等学校野球大会の入場行進曲に選ばれるなど、世代を超えて愛される楽曲を数多く生み出している。 2006年よりNHK Eテレ『おさるのジョージ』の語り手および主題歌を担当し、現在も継続中。 2025年のデビュー45周年イヤーには、「岩崎宏美50周年・岩崎良美45周年 ファンタスティックコンサート」およびオーケストラコンサートが開催され、改めてその存在感と評価を示した。
