The debut mixtape from YOWAME, a rap-driven unit rooted in the streets of Tokyo.
The title track Irasshaimase Shinjuku ("Welcome to Shinjuku") dives into the neon-soaked underbelly of one of the world's most notorious nightlife districts - hosts, runaways, shifting red-light laws - a city where human darkness and euphoria collide. The track captures the chaos and contradictions of that world with raw honesty and a sharp sense of humor.
The B-side, Kotoba de Kutte ku ("Living Off Words"), was born from A World Only Bandmen Know, a YouTube channel run by Takuro Hirai. It's a testament to those who chose the riskiest path - making a living through expression alone.

    YOWAME is a rap duo that transforms questions sent to the YouTube channel The World Only Bandmen Know into original tracks. They have set an ambitious goal of releasing 150 songs a year, which means dropping a full-length album every single month. They are a completely fresh alternative rap outfit that drags the inconvenient truths of the music industry and the raw, gritty reality of bandmen daily life and finances, secrets long buried by both the Japanese indie and major scenes, right out into the open with sharp, cutting raps and highly addictive riffs. Armed with the lyrical prowess of Takuro (Vo, Rap), whose storytelling talent is so profound his novel was adapted into a movie, and the sonic craft of soundtrack composer 812 (Track Maker), the duo keeps up the fight on their main battleground, YouTube, dropping content every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
