MEITOUROKU The Record of Legendary Blades

MEITOUROKU is a concept album inspired by the legendary warriors of Japan's Bakumatsu era and the iconic swords that became symbols of their beliefs, honor, and destiny.

Through powerful bass driven compositions, each track portrays the spirit, conviction, and individuality of these historical figures. Blending historical inspiration with modern instrumental artistry, Samurai Bassist transforms their stories into a unique musical experience.

For this album, an even broader sonic palette was explored than ever before. Instruments ranging from 4 string basses to a 7 string Conklin bass were employed to maximize the expressive potential of the instrument. From thunderous low end power to delicate melodic passages in the upper register, every performance was crafted to reveal the full depth and versatility of the bass guitar.

The creation of MEITOUROKU represents the culmination of a journey that began with Blades of Inferno, continued through Shadow Blade Chronicles, Final Blade Chronicles, and Shikon Chronicle Yokujin Yako. Along the way came challenges, setbacks, discoveries, and growth. Each experience helped shape the sound and vision of this album.

As a one of a kind bass instrumental work, MEITOUROKU is more than a collection of songs. It is a tribute to history, craftsmanship, and the endless pursuit of artistic expression. Whether you are drawn to Japanese history or instrumental music, this album invites you to experience both worlds through the voice of the bass.

May the spirit of the Bakumatsu and the legacy of its legendary blades live on through every note.
