Kukuriのファーストミニアルバム。約1年半の制作期間を経て完成した本作は、5曲という少ない曲数ながら、各メンバーの広い趣向を随所に盛り込み、激しさと馴染みやすさを両立した「ライトなヘヴィネス」を模索・追及した意欲作となっている。
「2026 Edition」では、普段メンバーがリハーサルでサウンドチェックを行う際に演奏している『Sushi』がボーナストラックとして収録されている。
アーティスト情報
Kukuri
元々同じバンドで活動していたShunとDaiが、半ばサイドプロジェクト的に2016年から活動を開始。およそ1年の曲作りおよびコンセプトメイキングを経て、Shunが以前から目を付けていたYukiとRyoを勧誘し、4人でスタート。2024年、Mk-Nが加入し、5人体制となる。 学年は異なるものの、元々5人とも大学の同じ軽音楽部に所属しており、J-popを中心にハードロックやメタルのほか、ヒップホップ、ジャズ、ラテン等、幅広いジャンルのコピー・カバーを広く行ってきた。 編成としては、ドロップBにダウンチューニングされた2本のギターに加え、5弦ベースに2バスのドラムといった近年のメタルコア等の界隈で見られる形ではあるものの、決してメタルに拘泥している訳ではなく、あくまで楽曲の主眼は歌に置かれており、激しくも耳馴染みのよい、言わば「ライトなヘヴィネス」を標榜している。 バンド名は、いわゆるジャンルの「括り」を取り払い、広く音楽性を取り込んで表現したい、という意志が込められているが、これは後付けで、実際のところは「語感がよい」「Kから始まる名前は珍しい」という理由から決定された。
