s-o-a returns with "Luxury," their first digital single in nearly a year and a half.
Following "chap-chap," released on March 31, 2025, "Luxury" marks the group's sixth single.
Originally featured on their fourth EP, "x+y=0," which was released exclusively at their self-organized event on May 20, 2026, the song was written and composed by Kageyama.
Blending programmed rhythms with guitars and synthesizers, "Luxury" is an alternative pop track infused with electronic elements.
While its catchy melodies and colorful instrumentation create an accessible pop sound, the lyrics explore an attachment to days gone by and the fear of facing reality.
Portraying memories as a luxury, the song explores how they gradually wear away each time we revisit them. It reveals the contradictions of human nature: clinging to an increasingly idealized past while remaining unable to break free from its hold.
