"Sakimori no Uta - Song of the Border Guards"
This instrumental rock piece paints its story through a spectrum of tones - from tender, melancholic clean phrases to soaring, distorted guitar lines.
The Sakimori were soldiers of ancient Japan, dispatched from distant provinces to defend the frontiers of Kyushu during the Nara period. Their duty often meant leaving behind family and homeland, embarking on harsh journeys, and sometimes never returning. Many perished far from their loved ones, carrying unspoken sorrow within their hearts.
Through shifting guitar colors, this piece captures the bittersweet longing for home, the solitude of the march, and the quiet strength in the face of fate. It resonates as both a requiem for forgotten soldiers and a universal ode to parting, memory, and prayer.
I use a wide range of apps such as DAW, MIDI,vocaloid and beat machines, and also mix my own playing and the performances of my friends to create my music. The music I create is characterized by its emotive melody, mainly consisting of short pieces for background music.
