Devotion to the Piano and the Voice
We naturally came to a point where we were doing live performances with just vocals, piano, and minimal rhythm. So, Shottan, our vocalist, said, "Why don't we release an album like that?" That's how this album came to be a reflection of the kind of sound we've been doing in our recent live shows.
I create music by first visualizing a scene and putting it into words, then composing it on the piano. First, I play the piano while coming up with the melody. Since I've always liked electronica and hip-hop (beats), I piece together various rhythms, cutting and pasting them bit by bit to form the rhythm track. Then finally, I "properly" record the vocals again. The goal is to keep as much of the original scene intact as possible.
This dedication to song and piano became intricately woven into 13 tracks without unraveling.
