Martens ice cream (Cover)

Aquarium and Clematis

    Aquarium and Clematis

The idol group "Aquarium and Clematis" ("Suisou to Clematis"), which takes life, live, and journey as its three axes, is releasing its 5th EP "Lilas" ("Rira-ra") simultaneously on subscription services and as a physical edition.

For each EP, Aquarium and Clematis has collaborated with different artists to produce the music. On Lilas, the original tracks were written by Yuya Chugenji, bassist of the Sapporo shoegaze band Burst Blue. The EP features four songs in total: a cover of Burst Blue's "Martens ice cream" by Aquarium and Clematis, along with a "Sapporo Trilogy" inspired by the city of Sapporo-"Shitakke Shime-Parfait," "On the Night When the Clock Tower Bells Ring," and "Boys and Girls, be Ambitious!!"

The lilac, designated as the city tree of Sapporo, is associated with the flower language of friendship and memories. Depending on its color, lilacs also symbolize various meanings that strongly evoke youth. Memories being woven into youth, the blend of everyday life with moments of the extraordinary, youth marked by love and farewells, and youth celebrated with innocent joy-all of these are contained within it.

In Japanese, the lilac is also called "Rira (Lilas)." True to that name, this EP is the youth of Sapporo. And it is the youth embodied by these girls.
