In the skies of Bangkok, April rain begins to fall- as if gently wrapping
the days that have already passed.

After turning thirty, I left Japan.

Amsterdam,
with crisp air drifting over canals, and a cold, northern wind.
Milan,
where cobblestones vanish beneath white winters and summers burn in stone courtyards.
Sydney,
bathed in golden light between the buildings and the sea.
Istanbul,
where silver snow falls, and winds cross the Bosphorus like memories.

In July 2022, I arrived in Bangkok.

Even in this land of constant heat,
from November to March, a cooler, drier breeze whispers through the days.
But then April comes- temperatures rise, and the rains return.

I live beneath this sky, watching the rain paint its familiar scene.
How many more seasons will I greet here, I wonder.

In the rain of Bangkok, I set my days in Thailand to music- adding the streets, the people, the sea, the sky, and the rain of this country to the notes of a quiet piano.
