DÉ DÉ MOUSE and singer-song trackmaker Sean Oshima have once again dropped a surprise release: Fushicho GROUP_Sun Aqua Ota Oizumi, the 24-track second album from their fictional shopping-center BGM excavation project Fushicho GROUP.

Set within the lore of the now-forgotten fictional conglomerate Fushicho GROUP, the duo this time unearthed a cache of background-music cassette tapes from Sun Aqua Ota Oizumi, a combined pool facility and shopping center located in Oizumi, Ora District, Gunma Prefecture-said to have opened at the height of the bubble economy in 1989 and mysteriously shut down just three years later.

Proceeding under the concept of uploading the tapes exactly as they were found-using the track titles handwritten on the cassette labels-Fushicho GROUP_Sun Aqua Ota Oizumi expands on the fusion / city-pop shopping-mall atmosphere of the previous release Feni, while introducing deeply resonant, water-soaked drones, ambient, and new-age textures that echo as if submerged. These elements intertwine with lush 80s fusion sounds, inviting listeners into an unfamiliar, dreamlike trip. Even more so than its predecessor, the album pushes the boundaries of mallsoft, with a laser focus on the localized aesthetics of Japan's bubble era between 1988 and 1990.

The project's world-building has also been taken further than ever, featuring eerie vocal CM songs supposedly aired only on Gunma Television, as well as commercial-style music videos produced by DÉ DÉ MOUSE himself.

According to the fictional backstory, Sun Aqua's closure is rumored to have been caused by an excessive focus on courting couples, leading to a gradual decline in family visitors, compounded by worsening local security and ultimately the collapse of the bubble economy.

Enjoy the original vaporwave universe of Fushicho GROUP-an invitation to let your imagination wander through a place that never quite existed, yet feels strangely familiar.
