Let it flow

This song was created as the ending theme for the movie Ogon Dorobo, released in April 2026.

The track was produced following a request from director Takayuki Kayano for a song with English lyrics. For Kohmi Hirose, recording in English posed a major challenge. She devoted significantly more time to this production than to her Japanese releases, meticulously refining every detail-including having native English speakers review her pronunciation prior to recording.

The arrangement was handled by Yoshimasa Inoue, a long-time collaborator who has worked with Kohmi Hirose since her 2000 single "BEGIN ~Ikutsumo no Fuyu wo Koete~." Although the intro was originally envisioned to feature a harmonica, continuous trial and error alongside Director Kayano ultimately led to the current arrangement.

In this piece, Hirose also explores a vocal style that departs from her established image. Rather than belting out powerful vocals, she prioritizes delicate, soft nuances, resulting in an ambitious work that leaves listeners wondering, "Who is singing this?"

The title, "Let it flow," carries the sentiment of going with the flow. The music mirrors the film's protagonist, who, despite being tossed around by various events, takes unexpected actions within that tide to spark fresh developments.

Just before the film's release, lead actress Rena Tanaka and Director Takayuki Kayano joined Kohmi Hirose on her YouTube channel, where she performed the song live for the first time. The video also features behind-the-scenes stories about the song's creation, offering content that can be enjoyed right alongside the movie.
