By using 5 strings Viper electric violin for original solo numbers with inspiring from Japanese sense of which appreciates curious expression of ghost notes and noises ( Sawari ) as a fine tune. Recorded under live performance atmosphere so that all noise happened there was essential on purpose that later effectively sorted at track down. The motif comes from my recent experience through missing my pet cat when I have got corvid, which have felt like hideous reality emerged from turbulent mind as if the moon appearing in between dark clouds.
Mark Wood's Viper, Electric Violinist / KORG WaveDrummer / Composer / Narrator / Al-Koh Born in 1962, Japan. Desire to express with the western music instrument and electrified gear, the feeling for the great nature talk and exquisite noises like common human behavior and habit as meaningful whispering from all phenomena. I believe that is me, true self and confidence, toward the open minded actual world. My recording style is simple. The sound I would love to have is that from the monitor at the live audience, so that one track, one take, play at once, recording through pick-up microphone direct. I do not mix other takes at track down. That excepts when I play more than 2 different instrument. Musically, I pay deep respect to Toru Takemitsu and Isao Tomita for truly incredible creativity and method breaking experiments. And to my mentor Jazz drummer Motohiko Hino for drumming configuration as well as musical attitude. All the photos on my pages are shot by myself, including cover jackets.
