In the quiet of the season, the contours of the heart begin to emerge.
Letters to the Seasons is a piano project by Rui Fujishiro. From June 2026 to May 2027, he releases a new piece each month bearing the name of that month, capturing the changing seasons and the emotions that move with them through piano.
The fifth chapter, October, is an ambient / neo-classical piece that portrays the sense of space found in the stillness of autumn, and the emotions that slowly begin to take shape within it.
A clear, open sky. A breeze drifting through the window. Gentle sunlight. Fallen leaves along the roadside. In the quiet of the season, details that would normally blend into the scenery suddenly come into focus. As the world seems to make more room rather than adding something new, emotions hidden deep within us slowly begin to reveal themselves.
Through the resonance of a single piano, "October" captures both these autumn landscapes and the emotions we unexpectedly discover within ourselves.
Reflecting a different autumn landscape within each listener and gently illuminating the feelings found there, "October" is a letter to the emotions we discover within ourselves in the quiet of autumn.
