Myuto Morita, who began his solo career last year, is set to release his second EP "29" - his final work of his twenties - ahead of his upcoming solo show at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM on November 18.
Marking his 30th birthday on October 31, the EP captures the emotional landscape of Morita's final year in his twenties, weaving in band-oriented sounds. All tracks were produced and mixed by multi-creator SPENSR, who has co-produced all of Myuto's releases to date, with mastering handled by Maito Ota, known for work with artists such as JUBEE and kZm.
The EP includes five tracks: the guitar-driven single "dare", the shoegaze-infused "sou", the bright, rhythmically-cut guitar and programming of "haikara", the new track "UZA" built on lo-fi beats and resonating with today's global sound, and "our days", a song often performed as the closing number at his shows, written about memories of being at his late grandfather's bedside.
Serving as both a culmination of his twenties and a gateway into his thirties, the jacket artwork - like his artist photos and live visuals - was directed by HUG to express this new chapter of Myuto Morita's artistic journey.
