Have you forgotten the smell of the earth? (Suitcase Version)
The Shiawase
"Have You Forgot the Smell of Earth?", which was included in their first EP "Kotatsu" released in 2019, has been re-recorded with a new arrangement. Percussion and piano have been added to the simple sound of a three-piece band, resulting in a warm sound.
Before moving to Tokyo, the band faced themselves once again and decided to re-record the song.
The recording took place in a studio at Nagoya University of Arts, their alma mater and the place where the band was formed.
Gratitude to their hometown and a challenge in Tokyo.
The new "Have You Forgot the Smell of Earth?" is packed with the current The Shiawase.
Artist Profile
The Shiawase
Formed by three university classmates, The Shiawase is a band rooted in the grooves of soul, blues, and funk, blended with the spirit of Japanese pop from the 1970s and 80s. At the center is vocalist Nakai B.B. Riku, delivering soulful vocals and blues-driven guitar. Supporting him is Shunta the Bassman, whose melodic basslines form the foundation of the band, alongside Chichifukutei WASABI, who drives the floor with percussion and dynamic MC performance. Their live shows are filled with humor, danceable grooves, and songs that hit straight to the heart. With a natural, human presence on stage, they create a sense of unity that draws in even first-time listeners. You will find yourself dancing, laughing, and ultimately moved. By the end of the show, you might begin to understand the meaning behind the name The Shiawase. They are a band that creates moments of happiness.
