Recorded live at PLUG, Shibuya, Tokyo in 2011.

"FUKUSHIMA" is a live recording by saxophonist Sinsuke Fujieda and pianist Hal-Oh Togashi.

The title piece "FUKUSHIMA" was composed in the immediate aftermath of the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. This recording documents the very first performance of the composition. Over the years, the piece has continued to evolve through live performance, gradually becoming a sonic prayer embodying memory, resilience, and renewal.

Built solely around soprano saxophone, piano, and synthesizer, the minimalist ensemble transcends the framework of jazz improvisation, revealing sound, breath, and space themselves as expressive elements.

The raw tension, profound silence, and emotional honesty captured in this performance reveal the early musical and spiritual foundation of what would later become central to SINSUKE FUJIEDA's artistic world.

Originally released in 2012 as the very first album on SoFa Records, this recording remains a quiet yet powerful document of spontaneous creation, human connection, and the transformative power of sound.
