The Stairway to Heaven, Forever Upward
SUZUME MUSIC
This mini album contains two songs that tell one quiet, bittersweet story-the story of a soul who comes home for one last summer, and the love that finally learns to let her go.
The first song, "She Takes the Ghost Train Home," begins on a summer night during Obon.
At a dreamlike platform, a mysterious ghost train arrives, carrying departed souls back to the world of the living.
Among them is a girl who returns to see someone she loves.
Their reunion is brief.
They spend a summer evening together, surrounded by the gentle memories of a summer festival. But soon, the time comes for her to return to the other world.
Before she leaves, he gives her a small offering of sweets with a letter hidden inside:
"If you've made it to heaven, you don't have to come back next year."
It is a heartbreaking farewell, but also a prayer-a wish that she will never again have to wander between two worlds, and that she will find peace and happiness in heaven.
The second song, "The Stairway to Heaven, Forever Upward," is sung to her soul after she reads that letter.
It is a song of encouragement.
You don't need angel wings to rise into the sky.
Even if you carry sadness in your heart, you can still fly.
Beyond the brilliant blue sky and the towering white summer clouds, a door of light awaits.
"Come, let us go.
Climb the stairway to heaven, forever upward."
Together, these two songs form a small requiem for a departed soul.
One song welcomes her home.
The other gently sends her onward.
What connects them is not sorrow alone, but love-the quiet love of someone who says:
"You don't have to come back anymore.
Please be happy where you are."
A story of reunion and farewell, of remembrance and release, and of a love that reaches beyond the boundary between this world and the next.
Two songs. One soul. One final journey toward the light.
