"The noise of Shibuya. Neural pathways pulsating like water. Inheriting the DNA of 90s-00s sci-fi and racing aesthetics-a driving soundtrack of solitude and impulse."
"circuit love" is an instrumental EP that captures a girl living amidst the neon and clamor of Shibuya, driving her car through a fluid inner world woven from nerves and electronic circuits. The title "circuit" carries a dual meaning: the electronic pathways that make up her being, and the racetrack where she accelerates, driven purely by her impulses.
Crossing House, Drum 'n' Bass, Jungle, and Ambient, the tracks draw heavy influence from the deep cyber worlds of 90s-00s sci-fi anime like Serial Experiments Lain and Ghost in the Shell, as well as the high-speed soundscapes of racing games typified by R4 -Ridge Racer Type 4-. The inorganic yet heated, driving beats and occasional cut-up vocals act as fragmented data slipping through the noise of the city.
Structured like a single film, the album maps out the dynamic between silence and peak intensity. Continuously driving down her inner highway is her way of breathing, functioning as the very impulse that pushes her forward. What she feels is neither fear nor pain; within a comfortable, untouchable solitude, she dives deeper and sharper into herself.
The narrative then reaches the final track, serving as the end credits. Leaving behind the damp air of Shibuya, all gloom and anxiety vanish as the stage shifts to Monte Carlo. Armed only with unwavering conviction, she speeds through the sunlit city-a final scene that leaves the listener with a definitive sense of liberation and lingering resonance.
For moments alone, or moving through the night. A soundtrack for calmly accepting solitude and simply driving forward.
